TOM CLOUD UPDATE: Rising Interest Rates To Impact The Metals & Large Investors Make Up 70% Of Gold & Silver Buying

Today, Tom Cloud provided another interesting precious metals update.  He discusses how rising interest rates will impact the precious metals and why the Federal Reserve is forced to continue increasing rates.  Tom also explains what is going on with official gold reserves in China and Russia.

Tom also mentions how his precious metals sales volume has changed since 2007.  I spoke with Tom on the phone this week to get an update as he hears a lot of what is going on in the industry.  I asked him if he could look at his precious metals sales figures and see how the small and larger investor buying volume has changed:

If you look at the chart below, the smaller precious metals investor had, the larger pie in gold and silver volume during the 2007-2009 period.  According to Tom’s sales figures, the small investor, $50,000 or less, accounted for 62% of total volume while the large investor was 38%.  This trend changed in the next period, 2013-2017 as the large investor made up 58% of total volume while the small investor fell to 42%.

Tom said that so far this year, the large investor accounted for 70% (or more) of total precious metals sales as smaller investor buying fell further to only 30%.  So, the little guy is not participating in the precious metals market as they were in 2007-2009 when the stock and economy was disintegrating.

However, the larger gold and silver buyer is usually the wiser investor.  The small investor is more fickle and has to wait until panic comes back into the market before they start buying once again.  Furthermore, the small investor is also the one that loses faith much easier and is known to flip-flop by getting out frustrations by writing negative comments about gold and silver.  So, the more negative comments we see on gold and silver, the closer we are to a bottom in sentiment.  And by that, I am referring to a bottom in small investor precious metals sentiment.

IMPORTANT:  Tom states in the video that he will provide anyone a 20-minute conference call to discuss any questions or share information from his 40+ years experience in the precious metals market.

One more thing… if you are have been buying precious metals or are considering purchasing gold and silver, I would highly recommend that you give Tom a Call.  I sponsor Tom Cloud on my website because his rates are some of the best in the industry and he is by far one of the most honest and upfront precious metals dealers I have come across.

I watched the system collapse page a longer time.
Normally the difference silver price (East/West) is about 1,30$.

Yesterday it changes to 1,80$.And now it is again 1,30$.There is no reason for me.Is it controlled or manipulated?

  2. No offense, I’m sure Tom Cloud is a decent man. But I really don’t need him to tell me anything about anything.

You guys are just a bunch of middling loser types hoping for your big payout. In the meantime the world has moved on, people have made millions, billions of dollars, and are enjoying life.

    • The magic levitating stock market, volume the lowest, highest prices, absurd P/E ratios, major hedge funds cashed in and gone, major companies buying their stock off the market to minimize future losses, Yes this is the roaring twenties all over again, let’s keep dancing, the music will never stop and the money will forever keep rolling in! Remember this time it’s different! Reality is just a concept. Only a fool would buy precious metals! How silly that Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris is putting half of his $5.7 billion net worth into gold. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-05-01/north-korea-is-a-bright-spot-for-billionaire-who-forecasts-crash Remember the saying “eat drink and be merry…”

    • Why didn’t Tom Cloud take huge credit to fill up his vaults with tons of silver? Instead he prefers to live off commissions. The answer is simple: as for now a sudden price spike is not possible, even if silver breaks out.

This comment makes little sense to me.
He may personally have tons of silver already. Business people know you don’t tie up business funds in excess business inventory.
Businesses that sell any product live off of the spread or commission between sales price and their wholesale price of the objects they sell, or the raw materials they manufacture with. Nothing wrong with that.

“…as for now a sudden price spike is not possible, even if silver breaks out.”
If silver breaks out there will be a price spike; that fits the definition of “price break out” It probably won’t be “sudden”. It rarely is with an appreciating asset.

    • No offense, I’m sure “dolph” is a decent man/woman/it. But I really don’t need him/her/it to tell me anything about anything.

There fixed it for you !

    • while you made 5 shekells bankster shill

  3. Bitcoin at 9600 and ETH at nearly 800, Pms still in the basement…
Stocks drop are lasting only a few minutes…
    US dollar increasingly strong…

Still no petro yuan, no BRICS, nothing as usual !

PM’s in the basement, Bitcoin, down for the year to date. Stock indices, down for the year, dollar, down for the year [with a rise in the last month].
That is the truth. An increase in Bitcoin or anything other than PM’s for as little as one day and you’ll be sure to hear about it from RD
